Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach serves as both backdrop and muse for this 2018 build project, shaped by the interplay of quality craftsmanship and materials to withstand the elements.

Perched atop Sydney’s most recognisable shoreline, Seaside was conceived as an urban oasis for its international inhabitant. Designed by Tom Mark Henry studio, the 90sqm residence’s proximity to the ocean brings with it both enviable views and unique environmental challenges, such as ensuring materials are installed to endure the salt air’s capacity to warp. Brother Nature’s interior build celebrates the authenticity of these pieces – the raw edge of the kitchen splashback, for example, elicits the material’s organic form and texture – as attention and care for detail is imbued throughout, from joinery elements to timber flooring. A playful and timeless design approach allows for seamless integration with the seaside landscape, echoing the surrounding environmental language while curating an intentional sense of place.

It was an honour to work in this iconic Sydney building, and to collaborate with a brilliant team of Designers, Trades & Suppliers. Our build team love to bring a magnificent design to life, and the precision required to get this one bang on really allowed us to show what we can do.
