Set against the wide lakeside horizon of Jindabyne, Stay is a refined mass timber duplex designed for short-term accommodation. Inside, it’s all calm and expanse: natural light moves easily through the interiors, exposed timber structure adds warmth, and the spaces settle into a tranquillity that’s rare in buildings of this scale.

That atmosphere comes directly from the structure itself – Stay is built from mass timber, using Australian-grown and engineered timber to form a building that is both low-carbon and inherently comfortable. The material moderates temperature and sound naturally, creating interiors that feel grounded and insulated from the elements.

The project also introduced Australia’s first mass-timber volumetric bathroom pods, designed and manufactured by our team in-house. Built offsite and installed with precision, the pods demonstrate how industrialised construction can improve both performance and efficiency without compromising any architectural outcomes.

Designed to withstand Jindabyne’s demanding alpine climate while maintaining a light environmental footprint, Stay shows exactly what’s possible when thoughtful design meets high-performance construction. The result is a durable and quietly luxurious alpine retreat that feels effortless to inhabit.
